Solo Vehicle Dependent Exploration, Travel & Adventure

Introducing…

Welcome to Sirocco Overland!

Добро пожаловать в Сирокко Оверленд!

26,200 miles (42,000 Km) driven, 248 days on the road, 116 nights wild camping, 176 nights in the roof tent, 23 countries, 16 International border crossings and 4 vehicle services.

We are currently in Australia as permanent residents and have imported both vehicle and trailer here.

THAT was one hell of a drive!

THAT was one hell of a drive!

This website has been created to document our international trips and the evolving process of modifications carried out on our Land Rover D90 and Overland Trailer.

 Solo Vehicle Dependent Exploration

The Defender has been modified/set-up for short duration (<6 weeks) solo adventures overseas with the trailer adding another dimension to our abilities for travel further afield. This in itself means we have to be totally self-sufficient and mitigate against any form of potential problem which may occur.

 Travel

The reason behind buying the Rover. Gone are the days of Easyjet, taxi queues, trains to London Heathrow, endless bus journeys through the night, places you want to see but cannot get to. We have the capacity/ability to circumnavigate the globe! Our D90 can and will take us anywhere our hearts desire!

 Adventure

Because we will be taking the roads less travelled, we don’t know what lies around the next corner, over the next mountain pass, along the next piste or within the next town. From destination to destination we travel with the spirit of adventure in our hearts.

“Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”

I am wondering if I could use a few of your photos of “Siberia Part III” for a book chapter that I am writing about travelers on the the Road of Bones? You would be credited completely–it is an academic book to be published by Palgrave.
